Bobcat Road Tour

If anyone has a chance to go, the Bobcat 50th anniversary tour is well worth seeing. Lots of older restored Bobcats, even the old red ones from 1958. Plenty of interesting displays, and the Bobcat Squaredance was lots of fun to watch. Plenty of good food, too.. Bobcat put on a First Class show..

I haven't seen anything on that yet, hope it does come by our way. Driving by the local dealership a couple of weeks back I did notice there new line up of tractor's I didn't have a chance to stop and check them out but they look pretty slick, must cost a good penny.

I believe the new Bobcat tractors and equipment are now made in Korea, someone correct me if I am wrong. Dave

Bobcat is now owned by a Korean Company. Manufacturing factories are still the same for now. The new tractors are built overseas, just like some Deere, CaseIH, New Holland, and Agco.

Is it worth seeing a company that was founded with American inginuity, hard work, innovation and years of brand loyalty only to be sold out to the chinks? I don't look at it as a celebration but rather more like a funeral. The factories will be gone in a few years and instead of truckloads of Bobcats heading from Gwinner to the east coast for shipping it will be the other way around.

I was a big shareholder until the sale. Never will I spend another dime on them.

I had on of the first bobcats. It was a three wheeler with an onan engine. You had to be careful or the thing would lay down on it's side for no reason.

Verniee, that was very well said. I feel the same way that you do. It is going to be sad in this country in the near future, but the people keep buying and bragging up the foreign stuff and they say oh well it is a global economy now. Blah, blah, blah. We will pay dearly down the line.

last time i checked bobcat was not owned by a korean company... it was owned by melroe and associates or something like that...

i do know bobcat is the only one to have there excavators manufactured in the good ole us of a.

But BOBCAT is the only brand i will recommend and run for the skidsteer and excavator quality. the only other excavator i would recommend would be kubota.

I have rented from caterpillar before and since i have trouble getting equipment before they close. but the guy at bobcat will actually bring the equipment to his house so i could pick it up. In fact i had a piece of equipment rented when the tornado hit my house. the equipment had to be turned in the next day. so when i went in to bobcat the next day and told my friend that the tornado had hit my house and there were trees everywhere he gave it to me for an extra day and he even gave me the grapple for free. In fact when i was talkn to my friend at bobcat about having trouble gettin the equipment the owner was standing near and told my friend to leave and do what he had to do to get me the equipment.

I no i wouldnt get that kind of service from Cat or New holland... and those arent the only times that he has done something for me.

Cliff and Les Melroe sold out many years ago.

But as far as your "last time I checked" deal, you should check again.
Koreans buy Bobcat

well the plate behind the cage on the 2007 T190 setting on my trailer in the drive way says something about being associated with melroe and is based out of new york.
