660 power steering

How hard is it to rebuild the power steering cylinder on an IH 660? Mine is leaking oil from the cylinder. Would it be best to take it to a shop or mechanic, or could a person do it? Do you need special tools? Is there a kit that you purchase or is each part purchased separately? Any help or suggestion would be great. THANKS!!!!!

If it"s not a "sealed-up" or welded shut "throw
away" cylinder than it"s probably very easy.
Check with a dealer, for parts, and a copy
of a dissassembly diagram. Generic parts, from a
hydraulic parts house will probably do the job,
but you won"t know what you need until you take
it apart, so an IH kit is probably best.

All depends on where it is leaking I have one I restored in 99 and some parts are no longer avb. from caseIH. Older IH combines have the same style cylinder but are shorter. I end up getting a 403 combine cylnider and using parts out of it.I know a good dealer and parts guy that was able to find m most of what I needed. Let me know if you have trouble I'll tell you who to talk to.
