ted or tedder?

I mow with a mower, ted with a tedder, rake with a rake then bale with a baler. I don't think i have ever mowered with a mower or balered with a baler but it seems a lot of people lately are going out to tedder with their tedder. is this a geographical thing? which is right?

Its all in you are and how you talk. Ted, Tedded, Teddered. Lets not forget Tetter and Tettered.

I Tedded my hay today.
I Teddered my hay today.
I am goin to Ted my hay today.
I Tettered my hay today.
I am goin to Tetter my hay today.

It all means the same.

You walk into any equipment dealership around here (we have them all) and tell them you want a rotory cutter, brush hog or shredder and they will look at you and say "thats a bush hog". Same thing with a moco (mower conditioner) they will all say thats a haybine. (doesnt matter the brand).

dunno. I don't know what tedding is. But I liked it when a girl dresses up in a teddy for me, that usually is a good sign.

Most of the time I hear people say "I went over the hay today with a tedder". Stuff like this changes from state to state. Where I live people plow tobacco with a two row cultivator, one county up where I work people cultivate tobacco with same contraption. We use a spike to put tobacco on a stick, 3 or 4 counties east they spear it.

Well, I always say I am going to ted my hay. Any probably very incorrect when I say I tedded the hay, as I did yesterday. I would never say I teddered the hay though, that just doesn't sound right to me.

In our area, people "crop" tobacco, but in other parts of the state they "prime" it. I'm not up on the burley terminology, but my first crop of it is looking good.

Around here, it is called "kicking your hay". Some people even call a hay tedder a hay kicker.

I raised my last crop of burley 5 yrs. ago , HAPPY DAY !!!! No help around here . Pull into the local station where the kids hang out and theyed scater like a covy of quail to be sure you could`nt ask them to help .
