What would the CaCl ballast weigh in a...

16.9x30 tire? I never thought to ask the dealer what blend of calcium they put in the tires when I bought it, but considering I'm in the Great White North, I figure it's a strong blend. I realize this will be an approximation, but it's better than not having a clue.
Thanks!
Jason

May as well purchase a sack of table salt, mix with water and pump into the tire. CaCl is salt as well, just a cheaper and more aggressive kind.
I filled two tires last night with diluted windshield washer fluid. Those rims will never rust. The valve stems will be less inclined to seap as well.
You could also check into the sugar solution called beat juice.

Speaking of CaCl...

Have many tractors 40 years old or older that have had CaCl in them since new with ZERO RUST on the rims. When it leaks, fix it and clean it.

Excellent source of ballast as it puts the weight down low for balance and traction where it's needed.

Your equipment is the exception to the rule. Rare to find a 30 year old rim that isn"t completely rotton around the valve stem.
Why go and invite trouble, just use antifreeze or beet juice? Best way to avoid a problem is to avoid it instead of living carefully with it.

With care a tire will not have any trouble with CaCl. Rims well over 30 years old are just fine if you fix a leak right away and was it off well.
