Thanks for posting that, its an interesting article.

I worked with a stamping operation once that told me that metal stamping plants often have agreements with neighboring plants to take over production in case of disaster. Soemthing along the lines of "If Plant A is hit by a tornado, chances are the dies and tooling will mostly survive. Load them on a truck and ship them to Plant B and continue production there." And vice versa.

Last decent hurricane to hit my area, the Finast still had power via underground lines when most of the rest of the area was out. Manager of the A&P called up the manager of the Finast, and they moved all the refrigerated, frozen goods and meats from A&P over to Finast.

That I'm talking about Finast and A&P means that was 'bout two decades ago
