Just went to Minden NE to the pioneer museum. WOW I have never seen so much stuff of so many types in one place. tractors, steam engines, motorcycles washing machines, all sorts of machinery, antique cars. Just amazing

The first time I went there I was in grade school. I've been there about 10 times in my 54 years. Really a nice place. Quonsets full of cars...some even have a second floor. Were they running the steam powered merry-go-round? You didn't happen to stop at the Great Platte River Arch in Kearney? The guy that started Pioneer Village was Harold Warp...he was the guy that invented Plexiglass and he was very rich.

Yep stopped at the atch on monday morning. that was something else too. alot of history in that part of the state for the last 150 years or so. also stopped in Grand Island at the Stuhr museum. that ranks up there in my book too.

Sounds like you had a full day! Stuhr Museum is a nice place to see. We came home from Marysville, KS today and went into Grand Island. Drove right by Stuhr museum. I saw one buffalo lying out there on the grounds.

Yep, quite a place. My wife and I visited it about 12 years ago. It is getting a little long in the tooth, but still very interesting.

I grew up within 200 miles of Minden, but never visited Minden as a kid. I remember at the time that Pioneer Village had "Burma Shave"-style signs all over the country.

I grew up 65 miles from Minden and going to Pioneer Village is like going home. There is so much stuff there every time I see something I haven't noticed before. I really enjoyed going through the farm machinery with my Dad and have him explain some of the things to me. I wish they wouldn't have it all jammed in so tight so we could see them better.

Oh and by the way, i went through Marysville, KS Monday on my way home.

You can go back lots of times and never look at the same things. Last time I went I spent the afternoon looking at airplanes. They have 1 of 3 full-size replicas of the plane the Wright Bros flew at Kitty Hawk

We were down at Marysville to decorate some graves on my wife's side. We also took her eldery aunt to her class reunion. $80 dollars spent on gas for the round trip from Kearney, NE.
CRAP!

if i remember right it is about $10 for an adult a little less for the kids. I know what you mean about everything being packed in there but still enjoy it. and to think that everything is in running order too

Working condition is RIGHT!
They say in the 60's at the Kearney County fairs, Harold Warp would round up all his relatives he could plus friends in the area and they would pull out some of the old tractors and cars and drive them in the parade. Usually different ones that were in the parade from the year before. I never saw any of parades, but heard about it from different relatives of Mr. Warp.
The last time I was there I noticed that some of the cars inside had little cups, lids or cans under them where various oil leaks are showing up.
