High mag lime

Spread about 1600 lbs of lime around my trees and in the vegatable garden today.
Since I was broadcasting it by hand out of a bucket I tried to put it down at a little less rate than the soil test recomended.

So how long do I need to give this stuff to start working before I can test it again and see how well I did; or how much more I need to add???????
I am thinking 4 months should be good.

12 - 18 months.Give it a chance to get down in the soil good.

Really was not that bad. Had a bucket that holds about 20 lbs. Put 2 buckets around each tree and spread about 1 bucket for every 225 sq ft of the garden.
Took a few hours but it was the heat that run me inside; not weakness in my arms.
Came in at 11 am and it was 87 deg. Heat index was 97 deg.
Went back out late this afternoon and finished up the last 2 to 300 lbs.

Now if you want to talk about hard.... That would be when I limed my pond about 2 years ago.
That was a pain getting lime spread in the middle of the pond.
