diesel fuel pumps problem?

friends 35 h.p. Kabota is running normally then dropping rpms quickly then runs at all different speeds. Fuel tank has been drained, lines blown clear, filter changed. So prolly fuel transfer pump or fuel injection pump. Any other known problems that could cause this?

I have experienced running like that just before running out of fuel, so poor fuel delivery could be the problem. Before going at the injection pump check the transfer pump if it has one. I opened one up one time and it was full of mud.

Look for a air leak.That is a problem I had.
