today's invention

After high stepping onto the Farmall 100 for 20 years, I built a step for it. Scrap that was hanging around the shop. Seems that it gets a little further off the ground every year.

Should be good for another 20.

Age and wisdom make steps a good idea. I made a step for my Case 300 to put on my Case 312 which had 36 inch tires needed a step but ended up returning to the 300. Sold the 312.

You should get rid of those square corners. They are are a safety hazard, as in one day when it's a little slick and a foot slides off it has the potential to rip your leg open. I have seen it happen or the end result anyway. Doesn't take much to get rid of those points.

You can also glue a piece of carpet on that step. I tied a piece of carpet on the draw bar on the side I use most on my H tractor . I was getting tired of those drawbar bites. They bite in a hurry but heal darn slow.

I like it.

The color is your choice. :)

I too would want those corners rounded, I would have gashes in my shins as it is.

In my climate with mud and snow and dew, I would be concerned about it being slippery and hurting myself with the smooth metal. Perhaps if I were to paint it I would sprinkle some sand in the wet paint, or apply an anti skid strip to it, or rough it up somehow.

Dont mean to sound like a typical internet safety police busy body, just offering some thoughts and ideas on your good idea.

I see nothing wrong with your invention because if you didn't like it, you would fix it.
Good job.

I have a Woods belly mower on my Super A at all times. The mower serves me as a step. However, the mower seems to be lower and the platform higher as the birthdays mount!

I use a 300 amost daily, mostly because
it's so easy getting on and off. My 630
with 36 inch tires I had to make a step
for. A 312 I'm yet to have the motor
assembled, will also have a step.

The first thing I do with a tractor I plan to fix up for myself, is figure out how I am going to get on it. I had a CA Allis and I liked it, just could not get on it. I have a White 2-105 that came with two steps and I added one more. I might add that this winter I plan to get at least one new knee. My A farmall has a push blade on it and the frame for that also serves as a step. I sure do approve of your step and the color as well.

If tractor manufacturers had any sense, they'd realize that not only college age kids drive or use tractors. I so wish I had a welder and a torch so I could make steps for my tractors. They should all be made with retractable steps on them. Also having a torn rotator cuff doesn't help at all.
