Allis Chalmers B. Think these were found everywhere, I even owned one once. Large company here used to have a fleet, all with sugar beet hoes on them and you often saw three or four together inter-row hoeing the crop.

Never saw a seat like that on a B - was that common in the UK?

Different headlamps, and adjustable front axle too. Adjustable front axle more likely on late B, but a later B would have a distributor. But oversees, who knows?!

British built later B's all had the adjustable axle andmost of the ones I came up against all had mags, even with batteries and starters.

My old neighbor across the road had one with a belly mower under it. He used it to mow his grass and I did the push mowing under his apple trees and around the house, geeze, about a half century ago now. He also had a John Deere B that we used to bale hay over there. We were like family. Sure do miss that old fart. He was a real character. I've often wondered what happened to his old tractors.

My grandfather's first and only tractor was a B bought new in 1939.
