When I was your age, I bought a JD H and 2 row
cultivator at an auction or $100.

I lost the tractor due to a barn fire. Grrrr

The H was a very popular tractor around here. The local dealer sold a ton of them. Many farmers liked it especially for planting and cultivating row crops and it would run almost all day on a tank of tractor fuel. A lot of the smaller farms in our county just had an H for their only tractor also.

Didn't even know a model H existed until I started collecting and reading literature about old tractors. None at all around
here. Model B was the smallest seen around here, and not many of them. A and G were the king for row crop and the D was king for tillage when I was a youngster.

Dad's first tractor was a model H. He farmed 14 acres behind the house. he had a 6ft disc(he said was too big) and a 2 row planter. He told me it took him a
full week to plant 14 acres.

Dad's H had long rear axle that stuck out about 16 inches. One time dad loaned his H to mom's uncle. John got the rear axle caught on a tree. it spun him
around the tree twice before he stopped it.
