1989 Harvest

One of my favourite harvest scenes from 1990. My dad running the 2090 Case pulling the 21 foot Massey swather. I was picking up the wheat swaths with the 510 Massey. It made a good jigsaw.

Is that in the same field? I thought swathing was not necessary by that time frame. Or weren't you spraying for weeds yet? Something doesn't add up in my thinking.

Nice picture caught at just the right moment.

Just me being different Ron :) In fact swathing spring wheat was still pretty common at that time. If you don't have a straight cut header you have to lay a swath. I did the same this harvest with my nephew running the swather ahead of the pull type combine.

Aha! The thought of not having a header for the Massey 510 did cross my mind. This one is another nice photo showing how to do a great selfie. Thanks
