Re:Speaking of Stick Shift

I didn't want to hijack the previous post, so starting this one and maybe learning something. I retired from the MI DNR as a Fire Supervisor. Early in my career, we had Federal Surplus semi tractor to haul
our fire dozer. The truck was a 1964 International single axle gas. The Transmission in it was something I hadn't seen before or since. Basically it was an H pattern shift, like a 3 speed with reverse.
Reverse was in the upper left, first was lower left, second and third were upper right and lower right. However, from third, you pulled up on a t handle like for a two speed rear end, then went back into
upper left (same position as reverse with handle not raised). This then became fourth. That was the strange part to me. It was a seven speed transmission and actually worked really well. It just seemed
strange to me that reverse and fourth were in the same location. When someone new to it looked at it, they were perplexed as was I. I have often wondered what brand of transmission that was. If someone knows,
I will have learned something.
