Computer question

So let's say that when you are setting up a password that you mistakenly click that box that says something like ''Save password to this computer'' or whatever it says. Anyway, the password auto fills. Is there a way to take that ''saved'' thing off or do you have to change your password?

What browser are you using?

Depends what kind of computer you have. On MAC, you access the keychain in Preferences then iCloud.

On my PC ,Firefox browser, go to bookmarks. history, clear recent history if you just did it or clear all. That might do it.

You should be able to clear your passwords and other sign in data. On this Chrome browser I'm using at this moment I would click on to ''settings'' and at the bottom of the page that comes up click on ''advanced'' and then go to ''clear browsing history'' and then click on ''advanced'' and then click onto the things you want to clear one of which will be ''passwords and other sign in data''.

In most cases changing is a good thing. On some sites the password is locally saved to your computer, on others it is saved on their server, but recognizes your computer MAC number as authorization to use it. A friend (who makes a good salary as a IT security/professional far a Large financial institution) has told me it is less about the quirky letters and special characters, and more about length. Using a series of 3 four or 5 letter words with hyphens between Like Fence-staple-hole-tweaser5 thousands of times harder to crack, than an 8 digit with @#fan3)P7. (These were just made up and are not in use by me. Jim

Duner ...... Are you happy with Firefox? For a long, long time I used Firefox on my laptop as the default browser and it took forever (sometimes 6-7 minutes) to load up my GMail account every morning. I phoned our ISP about the issue and he himself (by remote control) did some changes and moved me over to Google Chrome. Ever since, my morning hook up is completed in about 30 seconds. Just my experience, I have no idea why it happened as it did.

Crazy horse, I am very happy with Firefox and have been for years.
I also use Duckduck go as search engine.
I try to avoid anything Google simply because you are the market and not the customer. Google stuff woks and that is all people really want. I do have an android phone. Guess who is now developing the OS. Google. Google wants access to everything you do on your phone. Crazy

Duner, FYI, see below as to clearing site passwords in Firefox.

To the O.P., if you are using another browser, GOOGLE ''clearing site passwords in ________ browser for pertinent info to that browser.

I did this about three weeks ago and just realized I did it. I'd have to look back a long way to find it wouldn't I?

How do I quickly delete all saved Passwords in Chrome?
How to delete all passwords from Google Chrome
Open a Google Chrome Window.
Tap or click on the three dot icon in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser.
Select Settings > Privacy and security.
Under Privacy and security, select Clear browsing data. I don't know if this helps. Just do a search for the info if this doesn't help.

In my windows version of chrome click the three dots. Go to password manager, find the site, click it, and delete.

Changing your password won't help. It will just update the stored password.

You need to figure out where the password is stored, and delete it. What software are you using that asked this?

Open Google Chrome-in the upper left hand corner of the window click on Google Chrome. Click on settings, then auto fill and passwords, then password manager, there should be a list where you have saved your passwords, find the website you want and click on it. You may need your computer password to open up the info. Then just chose to delete it. Hope this helps.
