What kind of engine

We bought an 80s model skytrak and we are trying to figure out what engine it has. The sticker on the valve cover is missing. I have some pictures of some stamped part numbers and what I believe the serial number may be.

We do know that it is a Ford four-cylinder diesel. Let me try again to post some pictures.

Didnt know what that was. Looking it up, a golf simulator is popular, well not that.

Next was a roller coaster in England. That would be cool, but seems improbable?

Took a few more attempts at searches to come up with a telehandler of some sort? That might be less interesting but more probable?

Taking a wild guess that it is a gas burner, probably a
Ford industrial. Surprised you do not see FoMoCo on
it. Here is a brief picture posting rundown. Pictures
post through the ..Browse or Choose files.. button just
below where it says ..Upload Photos/Videos.. down
lower in the ..New post and reply windows. Clicking
that will give you a choice to select the file or folder
the pictures are stored in on your PC or phone. Then
select the photo from the file and ..Add.. it. They
cannot be pasted into the text area as a file.

Can you tell if the engine is gasoline, propane, or diesel? How many cylinders. There should be an ID tag of some sort on it, often they had a tag somewhere on the dash or in the cab area.

Pictures, boom reach, 2 or 4 wheel drive, such info may help.

It is a four-cylinder Ford diesel. We know that.

The front flange of the engine on RH side may have numbers stamped into it.
The photo shows an example from a 1970's tractor.
The bottom stamping is the date code. Might help with your identification.

It would be either a BSD442 or BSD444. I
can't remember which one the 'E' prefix
refers to but the round intake manifold
suggests later 80's or so. I think it's a
444 which is the 268 engine fitted to the
6610. Other than injector tips and
crank/rods/pistons the engines are much the
same.

Rod

4 cylinder engine like used on the Ford 6600, 5610 and 6610
Possibly a 256 but the longer stroked 268 was introduced in 1980
So could be either one

If you get the serial number for the machine and contact JLG they will tell you what engine it has and the size. Our Skytrac has a Cummins in it 4 cylinder with turbo has about 2000hours on it. Once you get used to it you will wonder how you did without it all these years. Trim limbs load things most loader will not lift and so on. They look ungainly for maneuvering really is quite a nimble piece. Ours is a 6036 it has a basket for working in that is about 4x8 foot. 6000LBS and 36 foot reach. We use it for putting round bales in on the old mow floor of the barn. Will put them in up to the hip about which is in the 4-5 high and will reach almost all the way across the barn. For the first row we stop short set the second one on top then shove them to the wall now they can not fall backwards. Stacked on end. Works great for more jobs as you go and limited only by the imagination for use. I bring saw logs up so they don't drag in the dirt when there is no snow on the ground. Will lift a log 24 foot long and 24-30 inch in diameter easily. It has a 3 spd with a torque converter like set up so just step on the throttle to go either direction in one of the 3 speeds.

My Scat Trak 1700C skid steer has an 85 hp Perkins in it. I do believe Volvo owns them now. Sky Trak is
the telehandler they made.

should be a xxx6015xxx casting number on the block.. that will tell us some more about which engine it is.
