ERF, a British company dating back to 1868 when Ernest Reginal Foden built his first steam road tractor. Never a main stream company, they built trucks powered by a range of engines from Rolls Royce, Cummins and other engine builders, my brother drove Rolls Royce powered ERF's in the 1980's and thought they were a great truck. Eventually taken over by MAN and production was moved to Germany. The company closed in 2007 after a few years building badge engineered MAN trucks for the military.
