Couple short videos for your Sunday evening....

My potato digger outing didn't quite go as planned. Almost had to rely on dog labor!!

There's no front truck under it, so trying to figure out how to get it to dig without it sinking in the light soil has been quite the task. It's been used in the past to sift rocks out of the ground at 3 - 4 & it worked fine for that. Here I'm going down about 6 - 7 to keep from shaving off the deep potatoes. Had to add a chain to the hitch as the piece of iron that was wedged in the hitch broke. Then I was in business. Think I'm going to keep looking for a complete unit & just use this one for parts.

Mowing the lane went ok. It was kind of heavy & I had to keep my speed up to keep everything falling behind the bar. So, there isn't a lot of close-up action.

I believe the potato digger is supposed to have a pair of wheels under the front end that was the pull point for a team of horses or a tractor. This also allowed for depth control.

It does. I just haven't found a replacement yet. Most of the ones around here are on lawn ornaments.
