Amazing battery

I have a 12 V battery in my 54 chevy flatbed I used it to haul my Model M Allis Chalmers Crawler I used for years in my disking business. I stopped disking about four years ago. I had very few customers, plus everything was getting old, including me. I just do mowing now so much easier. I put a new Interstate battery in the Truck in 2013. the battery still holds a charge. I roll the motor over when I think of it. When the batt gets a little low I give it a charge a couple times a year. I know others have had better success with batteries, but if I get 3-4 years from a battery I am doing good. Stan

I generally have pretty good luck with batteries too. And not that they get any special attention. Combine batteries sit there all winter and spring on the combine. Might give them a charge through the winter when I remember it. One of those old combine batteries (Interstate) was re-purposed to the 730 Case diesel a few years ago and still fires up the old diesel when I need it. Believe it or not I bought the pair of Interstate batteries in 1999.

I'm constantly moving this charger to a different battery.

Using this meter before and after charging, I'm convinced the dewalt charger works desulfating batteries.

That is good. I just bought a NAPA battery for my F150, they told me the old one I replaced was purchased from them in 2014, considering all the winters it went through I can't complain.

The original battery in our 2013 Chevy Silverado was 10 years old and still fine, but I replaced it because I didn't want it to fail 50 miles up in Canada on a fishing trip. I still have it and it seems OK, I may need it for the tractor, the one in the JD is over 10 years old. My batteries are stored in the cold, with one cable removed, and no charger connected. I suspect the heat of Southern California is what shortens the life of yours.

It's just a crap shoot getting a battery, there are only a few companies that make batteries and the same batteries have different makers marks on them. It's just the more expense brands they have more quality control people on the floor and will pull a battery off the line with the tiniest defect and put someone else's label on it.
