This old former farm boy misses those boring days.

Just remember that the teacher always told you that you'll never make any money staring out the window. But I bet your life is better than most folks.

well i dont know . i struggle to make ends meet and work like a crazy fool for my age. while yes its a major thing just to keep things running around here but i just keep chugging along. and i never ask for help fixing stuff or rely on other people. but i am happy with what i do and have which is just this old family farm to keep up. roofs need repair also but i can only do so much in this one man band. thats why i use my old equipment that i can fix . and as for the tractor thats a luxury to have a cab on that cockshutt 1755. been using my 660's before this one sure is thirsty. but the end result is all that matters. farm 4000 acres or 160 with old stuff and i like it like that.

you also, i just got a fresh 20 lb. turkey from my neighbor , cut it in half and its in the oven now.

You can fix your roof. I have just made two flashing repairs. A tool that helps a lot is a roof ladder. I put a top bracket that I got on line onto the fly section of an old fiberglass extension ladder. The fly section is narrower so it is lighter and easier for this nearly 75 year old to push up there from the ground ladder.

Pulling a Cockshutt 246 cultivator? Sure looks like the old 240 I have here. I spent the day much the same in the cab of the Magnum pulling the 7721 combine. Slow going with occasional stops to unplug the feeder chain as it plugs up on canola lumps the swather made. Still need several more days of nice weather to finish.

May God bless you all and keep on farming. It's the best life ever that I knew growing up. Now my days are spent looking through the windshield of a Kenworth delivering fuel oil.
