I was very careful and didn't get a drop on my pole barn floor, Until I moved my oil pan. GRRRRR

The corner of the oil pan had a cracj and left me a mess.

So my record stands, I change the oil and make a mess.

12 years ago I took my mule to the dealer for its first 50 hr service.
2 qts motor oil, 1 filter, 2 qts gear lub for rear end and .5 quarts Gl for front axle.

$175 dollars. After that I changed the engine oil every 100 hours on engine and 200 hrs on axles. And I oil the pole barn floor to prevent the concrete from rusting.

I do some of my own oil changes, and if I'm doing it in the garage, I spread a big blue tarp on the floor first, I too, have a tendency to spill!

o outdoors and put it back where it came from.

A large piece of cardboard underneath the drain pan has saved my floor many times.

(quoted from post at 12:18:18 10/01/23) The puppy training pads work good for oil change. Tsc has some that are about 30 x 40.
drain my oil on my floor....keeps the dust down, plus rats, mice, gophers don't like it there. Floor is sand, so now like an oil-top road. Probably not a good plan on concrete.

I put down cardboard or plywood to catch spills. Minor spillage happens almost every time, from moving the bucket, wind blowing, changing flow pattern as the crankcase empties, oil filter change, etc. It's just part of oil changes.

No, I don't see any rust on that concrete. Good job, George!

What kind of oil do you use in your Mule? If your Sterile Hybrid has a wet clutch and needs a JASO MA rated oil, Rotella T6 will do the job. And it's probably better and cheaper than the Kawasaki-branded stuff.

I use what the Kawasaki dealer recommended when I bought it new in 2011. Valvoline 10w40 for motorcycles.
We only have 932 hours on it and it doesn't use a drop of oil.

No wet clutch.

I used cardboard until my boss decided to use my cardboard and straw to keep the weeds down in her flower beds. She puts cardboard down first and straw on top of the cardboard.

I always save large pieces of cardboard for oil changes. Today I was super careful and wouldn't have made a mess if the oil pan had not leaked.

Guess I'll have to order more things from Amazon and collect more cardboard.

I just slide a cardboard under with the 1/3 of a barrel then slide it out with the cardboard no big spills and no mess and my cement has not rusted either though there is some rust on it from the steel always on it at times.

(quoted from post at 22:40:45 10/01/23) no matter how careful I am when changing oil, I manage to spill something, don't feel bad. Stan
irt don't care & never complains!

More than once I've successfully drained and refilled a vehicle only to step on the edge of the drain pan! ALL the oil on the floor!

used oil is possesed guys.none spilled turn around n maria lavoo casts it out on the floor. not sure on spelling of her name, prolly dump oil on me for ratting her out

Once upon a time, I was changing oil in a 350 chevy. Forgot to put the filter on.
Everything was ok until I started the engine. I worried why I did have any oil pressure, then I looked on the floor and saw oil running out.
Now that made a mess.
