Model T Ford Tool Box

I realize this is a tractor discussion board but I have a car question. When I started farming, there was an old tool box on the bench in the farm shop full of nuts, bolts, washers and other various assortment of junk. As time went on, I emptied the contents and thought I would find some use for it. I have enclosed a picture. It is weather tight. I thought, maybe, Model T's came with a tool box that mounted on the running board with an assortment of "multi tools" to work on the car. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Looks like they made different models. You can get a new one for under $2.00!!! Well, you used to be able to!!!

When I need a tool box I just make them out of fuel tank steel or barrel steel. Heavy enough it lasts and not bend at the first ding or bump. Lids are the same material. Some have hinges and some don't some have handles and some don't it depends on my need or mood when I make them. IT sure would be easier if I had a Shear and Brake for it though.

Thanks for your pics. Clearly, mine isn't a Model T tool box compared to your pics. Mine only has a single latch in the middle and it isn't stamped with Ford. I don't have a use for mine anymore.

I know what I am going to do. Since it doesn't seem to have much value from what you guys have said, I am going to have my grandson sand blast and paint it black. Then, I am going to have my wife fill it with surplus Christmas nick-knacks and cookies. Then, I'm going to sell it at my tractor club's charity Christmas auction. Some one else can get the enjoyment out of it while I clean out my shop and the money goes to charity-[b:9c56964b37]"a three way good deal"![color=red:9c56964b37][/color:9c56964b37][/b:9c56964b37]
