Quick hitch

Got a quick hitch for tractor thought problems were over went to put a kubota weight box on and dont fit anyone run into this ?

Kwik hitches only fit implements that were made to accept the hitch.A lot of implements are off just enough to not work. So they are not really 'universal'.That's the reason that I dont own a kwik hitch. I dont own two pieces of equipment that are the 'same' And only one that was acctually made to accept a kwik hitch. It is a fairly common problem. So you are not the only guy to have this issue.Your solution is to modify each piece to kwik hitch specs,or suck it up and only use the hitch on equipment that will fit.IMHO,takeing the hitch off to use certain implements,or putting it on to use other implements kind of defeates it porpose. Yes,a KH would be handy-if it it worked for all implements. But for my operation, they would be a waste of money.

I have a very large, very heavy 3pt bale wrapper that was always a 30-45 minute struggle to hitch up the old fashioned way. You just couldn't move it even with a bar to line up the pins, so you'd have to keep moving the tractor. Plus you had to hold the 3pt arms and top link in specific positions to fit in slots in the machine, which was a multiple-times-on-and-off-the-tractor, fiddling-with-baler-twine-to-hold-things-just-right, blink-and-it-all-falls-apart-so-you-start-over job unless you had help.

Now that I've converted it to quick hitch, it's a 1-minute job to hitch up. Even if I have to put the quick hitch on the tractor I'm 27 minutes ahead of the game because I can man-handle the quick hitch.

Any implement I have ever owned if it was manufactured by a name brand company and not home made always fit either a category 1 2 or 3 quick hitch. Maybe you have the wrong quick hitch. Just a thought

When I had my JD 4010 tractor, I also had a 3-pt snow blower and a homemade 3-pt backhoe. I got tired of it always taking so long to hook those implements up, so I had a chance to get a couple of quick hitches at an auction. I knew little about the different categories (1, 2 & 3) but got both hitches for WAY less than one hitch new -- I think a little over $100 for both. One was a straight Cat 3 hitch made by IH. It's still out here under a tree (my lawn mower's blade found it a couple months ago! ) The other was a Cat 2/3 hitch. That was my favorite, so I modified both implements to work with that hitch. Pushing the backhoe back that little bit pushed the 4010 to its limit, but worked nicely for our needs.

So that I'm not rambling aimlessly (again!), let me say that the quick hitch was truly a blessing!!!!!! It was [b:e088226a13]well worth[/b:e088226a13] modifying the equipment to make them fit it.

It is common for a quick hitch not to fit. Mostly with homemade implements or old, as in before quick hitch standard specifications, implements. I built a 3 point implement but I made sure it would fit my quick hitch.

The very reason for jst owning trailer equipment no fooling around and wrestling to hitch things up. just drop the pin in and go. NOw some of these new fangled hitches they have on some things now are almost as bad like the junk on the Great plains nothrill drill it flops around and almost takes 2 to get the pin in on it.

I have one of the pins on the inside and one on the outside on my landscaping rake to fit the fast hitch adpter on my SC. Same deal that you are talking about. Nothing moves so you just make it fit.
