Adjusting the brush hog height to a 2n tractor

On the 2n you have up and down with your 3 point hitch. So how do you set the cutting height?
When I put the deck down I am dragging up dirt.

The starting point should be that the deck runs level from side to side and front to back at the desired cutting height. Make adjustments from there.

You may want to hang a chain around pins for the 2 lift arms and tir it to your top link at the tractor. That should let you set the lever all the way down and let the chain hold the brush hog. Let me know if you want a picture.

being that a 2n and 9n... only had draft control,, you had to use stay bars or stay chains to keep the level you wanted. They were popular in the day for these models. The fabulous 8n later came along with the position control and broke the ferguson patent lawsuit. I do understand the is a modification from smith or someone that can modify the 2n/9n for position control with an add-on. I remember once selling the 8n and having to convince the new owner that I did not have any staybars because you did not need them on the 8n. I dont think he believed me till he got it home and started plowing with it.
