Just a minute or so of drone video caught of me swathing wheat today. What stands out to me is the amount of wild oats in this part of the field. The herbicide obviously didn't get them all. I think the majority of this wheat is dry enough to combine but there are a few green kochia weed patches and some of the low spots have green wheat too. A few days of hot sun should have it ready.

Hi Jim. In fact I didn't even know I was being recorded. My nephew was flying his drone to record this.
 
Not sure if FUN is the correct word to describe this, but to me it sure looks like fun watching from a drone camera. I didn't have the opportunity to sit in a cabbed tractor or cabbed swather in the time I did swathing in the 1950s and 1960s.

Ron, its actually pretty nice working although that day the AC was not operating and it got pretty intense heat in the cab. I've spent a good many years sitting on open swathers and can really appreciate the benefits of a good cab. Dust, bugs, extreme heat and cold, all take the fun out of a long day in the field.
I thought I had it pretty good when I got an umbrella for the Massey 655 swather back in the 1980s. :)
