I will need to purchase rear tires for my tractor soon. Size is 13.6 x 28. I am not looking for radial tires. What brand works best for you? If this question has already been asked and answered, my apologies.
Thanks for all your input.

Depends on what you will use the tires for. Plowing, haying, show tractor, refurbish to original, hay rides , etc.

my first preference is firestone, but cant afford them anymore everything gone koo koo. next i go for titan. but there is also bkt from india, but i dont like the wide ribs or treads on them , but it depends on what you are doing. there is also alliance from indonesia . i totally avoid any chinese tires. if its just a chore tractor or yard tractor then most anything should be ok.

Look at tires off from combines some of the rear tires are that size or a bit bigger if the 8 bolt on 6 inch circle they would bolt right on with no fooling around mounting them just swap wheels or paint them if color matters. I see some good used tires in that general size range on combines in the junkyard in ST.Johns MI From all sizes of machines. You might have to settle for a 14.9-28 or a something 26or 24 or even a larger tire just depends on what is there at the time.

Might want to check with tiretown near K.C. Sometimes they have titan blems for about half price of new. About a year ago I got a pair of 14.9x26 from them. Only downside is you have to install them or pay for mounting.

What do you want to do with the tractor, parade drives or wagon pulling on tar, heavy tillage in soft dirt, mostly just show and sit around?

Makes a difference.

Firestone if you want it to last or work hard. Spend a lot.

Goodyear/ Titan sometimes crack way too soon, but if you get from a good batch they are good and more affordable. If you get from a bad batch you will be frustrated.

I had good luck with Carlisle on a small sized utility tractor they are outlasting the Firestone they replaced!

BK seems like a popular frugal brand.

Tractor is used for general farming such as plowing, haying, bush hogging and other farm chores.
Thanks to all

Firestone SAT II give good traction anywhere I ve ran them, even in mud but highway use will wear them down pretty fast
Titan changed the design on their tires a few years ago and I don t know anything about the newer designs
Nephew has have good luck with BKT but I haven t run them on my tractors yet
I ve had 14.9-28 Alliance on my 4000SU for about 15 years, thread is still good and traction is ok, not as good in mid as the SAT II , they are getting a lot of dry checking between the lugs
Brother bought a set of cheap China 13.6-28 for his 3400, sorry looking tire with just over 11 inches of thread and the rest of the width being side wall bulge
