Hi all. I have a Deere 2510 that needs a new Load Shaft (the old one is coming out and fluid leaking out. I dont really want to do this repair, but dont have a trailer to get it somewhere to get fixed. Are there mobile farm equipment mechanics? Im in SE Michigan and not having much luck. Wondering if Im looking for the wrong thing.

Most dealers have service trucks for simpler work and the more involved it gets the more they will haul it in to work on in the shop. Thats not to say some BTO have shops that would rival most dealers shops and they will do more then than out in the field. Have a friend haul it for you someplace.

Around here in PA are several communities of Mennonites and there are some mobile tractor/equipment mechanics among them. Otherwise, it would primarily be the dealers sending a mechanic out on a truck.

I've found the Mennonite mechanics to be competent and very fair pricewise.

Not sure if you have any around you, but if you do, I would check there.

''needs a new Load Shaft (the old one is coming out and fluid leaking out)''

What are you basing the statement ''needs a new Load Shaft'' upon?

The load shaft (Key #27) is stopped from moving to the right or left by two ''retainers'' (Key #28) which are held in place by two bolts (Key # 31).

One of the bolts must have broken or fallen out allowing the retainer to fall out and get lost, allowing the shaft to move to that side.

If it had been noticed right away and put back in place perhaps no other repairs would have been needed. If it's been run that way for a while the seals may have been damaged.
