Please no! I spent enough hours on a 2 cyl. JD diesel. Don't remember model, it was a standard, not row crop, pony engine. Maybe a 620? Not sure. Gave me a headache after a couple hours in the field and by the end of the day I'd be covered with the oil/diesel spewing from the exhaust. No fond memories here!
 
If you are getting oil fuel splatter either there is a problem with the engine or it is not working hard enough to keep temperature up to burn it. Dad told of the old D-4 Cat would do that sometimes with it so they would shift up a gear then throttle back so it would work harder and stop doing that.
