Oldest son had the opportunity to get this JI Case disk. I had one several years ago, and like a dummy I sold it when I sold the JD 620. It always cut very well. Jon F if you see this post what model are these disks and where is the best place to obtain the blade bearings at now ? The last one I needed my CIH dealer finally found some but nearly like not found any. Hopefully this one will do well for him.

No doubt that it contains good depedable heavy steel components that will last a long time. It looks nice and straight. Mapping and assigning permanent parking spots in your equipment yard may be in your future.

There is no doubt about the mapping scenario. They are slowly planning on what stuff of mine they can relocate and use the shelter space.

that disk looks very similar to a disk I own that I believe to be a keewanne, or maybe I am the proud owner of a case disk gobble

It is a model S or SA disk. The only difference is whether it has sealed bearings or greassabe steelite bearings, which are actually more a bushing than a bearing. They are no longer available. The SA bearings you can remove the seal and repack them with grease. Easy to tell which you have by observing if there is a grease zert or not. The S bearings need to be greased about every 4 hours. As they wear out, that frequency will increase.

Looking at a larger picture on my desktop rather than my tablet. it is a SA Case. As stated previously, the seals are removeable to allow you to repack the bearings. Those bearings are still available from Case IH but be sitting down when you get the price!

It is an SA disc, I have the 14' version of it. The best disc made at that time. You have good advice on the bearings so far, they are available and they are regrettable by taking them apart. However a standard disc bearing from my local tractor supply also fits, they are just a bit narrower on the shaft. But for $20 rather than $200 I just cut the centers out of old blades and put one on each side as a spacer.

This one looks just like the one I sold which has sealed bearings in a housing with 2 nubs, for a lack of a better way to describe it,that attach via 2 90 degree clips onto the disk frame. You are correct on the price of the bearings. I had to sit down when he slid that bill across the parts counter.
