DLTX 67 carburetor float hole

I have a hole in my marvel-schebler DLTX 67 carburetor and I am wondering if it is possible to patch it, and of so with what?
Thank you

How big is the hole? I would be careful of what you place over the hole if it is more than a pin hole as the material you use as a patch MIGHT cause a problem with how well the float regulates the gas flow though the needle valve. A questionable flow through the needle valve MIGHT cause flooding.

Is a new float available?? Like has been mentioned I'd be concerned over the balance of the float and its affect on the up and down of the needle valve? I maybe
howling at the moon batty, but I dislike taking a carburetor apart again after I have fixed it, only to go find a new float. gobble

If the hole is a pin hole, the best bet is to dry all gasoline out of it by heating it gently with a hair dryer (not heat gun) on low. maybe 10 to 15 minutes. Then clean the area around the hole (about a quarter inch dia.). Put a film of soldering paste on the hole. (not acid) Using a soldering iron for electronics (about 35 watts) let it heat for 10 minutes tin the iron tip with a small drip of electronic solder. With the hole facing upward, touch the dangling drop of solder on the prepared hole. The thin brass will heat easily and the solder will flow covering the hole. Stop heating as soon as the solder flows! over heating will create pressure inside the float lowing holes in your patch. Further heating can also disassemble the entire float unit. Jim
