He's talking about the front axle pivot where the axle can oscillate under the front end. Just putting some wedges in there so it can't tip sideways on the axle.

My best advice is to buy this manual before
you start.
Available from Lots of places - Tractor
Supply, Fleet Farm, Ebay, Amazon, etc, etc.
About 100 pages and chock full of all the
neccessary info and procedures to fix your
Ford.
About $35 and money well spent.
I have had a 3000 for 18 years and still
refer to my I&T FO-31 regularly.
Bu the way, there is a Ford specific forum
here at Yesterdays Tractors.
Good bunch of very knowledgeable and friendly
guys there.

I saw that post this morning but wasn t sure if you where looking for a operators manual, service manual or parts manual
The I&T manual Jerry recommended is a real good condensed replacement for the factory service manuals that will cost 3-4 times more

Just keep your expectations realistic. The I&T manual is meant more as a general guide for an experienced mechanic, not step by step instructions like you'd find in your Lego Millennium Falcon set.
