Added these 2 nice always shedded silage wagons to my collection yesterday. Now to get them the 375 miles home. Wife says no more toys for awhile. Tom

These would be 1969 or earlier. They have the 1065 gears under them. I didn't need them but the quality was just to good to say no to. I am going to sell one of my older ones. Tom

They will be backed on a goose next trailer and the tires taken off. They will be right up at 13.6 on height but it will be mostly 4 lane. There are in western IA and will be coming to WI. Tom

My uncle wore out two of them on an early 40s Ford truck. Fed a lot of cows for many years with the outfit.

A year ago there was a JD 216 wagon on 1065A gear at an area auction. Looked like it was used once and then stored away until the auction. It sold for 1800 dollars.

Back in 1976 Dad and a neighbor bought 2 Rex silage wagons each. They each pulled two wagons 180 miles home. Being new running gears they trailed quite well and they could run about 40 mph.

I'm curious as to what method or methods of search you use to find these gems that you add from time-to-time?

Those wagons look fantastic except for the tires.

One of my old customers had a pair of them till he gave up milking and they were in Mint shape when he sold them , BUT so is all the rest of his equipment , i don't care where ya go you will not find nicer old stuff then on his farm down to the first tractor his dad bought back in the fifty's , yup it's still there and running like a top.

I'm also curious. Not so much about methods of search, but more about cost. I frequently see older equipment in very good shape, but it generally is out of my price range.

A wide search net and patience. The JD 216 I mentioned in my previous post here would have been mine if I had the money to spare. So not always a matter of waiting but being prepared with cash as well. When you look at Tom's equipment it is in good condition and well maintained but certainly not recent in terms of when built. Nothing wrong with that at all.

I'd just pull them both in one trip take a couple extra spare tires and pickup a couple along the way. Will pull hard on a trailer with the wind they will catch. Unless you have about a 35 foot trailer it will be 2 trips on a trailer.

Curious, what route will you take? US 18, US 9, Ave of the Saints or in Minnesota Inter State #90. Live next to Ave of Saints, so if you have a problem with anything I'd be willing to help. Harold

Boy I thought I had a nice chuckwagon but those two are way nicer then what I got. Awesome find. Those will make a good load on the trailer. At least it's a short trip jason
