4020 LP main hydraulis pump repair

There are apparently two options to access the main hydraulic pump on my 4020 LP, remove the fuel tank and whatever else above the frame or take the front end off. Any advice on which way is easier? Thanks for any response. Ed

Removeing the front end requires jacking up the tractor and useing a front end loader to handle front.Handleing a wide front is kind of like wresleing an aligator.Sooner or later, you will get bit.And working
looking up 'standing on your head'. Removeing the hood, tank and other stuff is easier, doesnt require a loader.More bolts to remove, but IMHO easier. But everyone has their opinion.

If you have a splitting stand or are able to safely block
front end of tractor up, then removing pump from
underneath is fairly simple. Its been a few years since I
have pulled a pump but that was the way I usually did it.

How certain are that the front pump has failed ? Is there flow to the front pump from the transmission pump ?
Are there high pressure leaks in the power steering or the SCV s ?
Power Shift of Syncro ?
Which filters and screens have been changed or cleaned ?
Is the pump input shaft actually turning ? The coupling can wear out .

I use a splitting stand, transmission jack for the wide front, and made a mount for my floor jack to raise and lower pump. The mount isn't much but works.

I don't think the pump has failed. My gut feeling is that a fitting needs tightening. I have not dealt with any filters as yet. The leak does not occur if the tractor is not running. I don't think is a power steering system leak.

There is a seal weep line that often deteriorated or falls off . It is a small low pressure drain line between the front pump shaft seal and the transmission case .
