David Brown 880 in better than new condition. I would be afraid to take it out on the yard scarper.

A neighbor bought a new 770. That was the only 770 I ever saw. It sure was a quiet little thing. He used to joke about how little fuel it used. He said he had to drain fuel out of it because it made it.

Question. Would that have been about the same as what we call the ''C series'' Oliver 500? The A series was an 850, but the C series had 8 bolt rear wheels, 6 bolt fronts and the pedals went down through the floor board. I didn't know if they upgraded the 850s at some point or if they went to the 880 as a 500 later.

Randy,
Are any of your girls petrol? Ive heard that the paraffin engines sip fuel, but Ive noticed that my petrol 4600 is a bit thirsty. In the words of Fred Dibnah Ive got to throw in a few pints.

Yes, one of the 500s has the Crop Master gasoline engine in it. As I understand it, they never made an 850 gas and the hood (bonnet) is exclusive to the Oliver 500 gas. It has louvers in it and the diesel doesn't. I've never worked the gas model to know how thirsty it is under load. We take it on five or six tractor drives a year, but that isn't much or a workout.

That hood to know. I might need to call you some time.

Are you heading to Itasca next week?

It's sorta up in the air right now. We were planning on it but my grandmother needs us to help move her stuff. She only has till the end of the month. I'll let you know if I'll be there or not.

There is a 770 about a mile from me. Its set most of the last 30-35 years. Every now and again they will air up tires and move it.

Just asking cuz its in the neighborhood. They got me
booked on the mill at Forest City that weekend. Ill be the
dope filing teeth.
