Yes, this happened on a Monday morning on the autobahn just outside of Arnhem on our way back to the boat, with a tractor on the trailer. Changing a wheel by the side of the road was a quite interesting experience. Then we noticed the traffic had slowed down and moved over to the centre lane. Just as I was tightening up the wheel studs, a police car pulled alongside and asked if I needed help. They had seen me on the motorway cameras and blocked off the lanes to give me room to work.

Here in Florida you would be lucky if a LEO was to park their squad behind you with their lights on.
No way would they force traffic into another lane away from you.

Hey Majorman! Is Arnhem a nice place to stop for a day or so? We might do that next year when we are in the area.

Yes, Things like the Windmill and Houses Museum are well worth the visit. Also has a lot of WW2 places on the battle trail. If you are in that area, travel a few miles further and visit Winterwijk, a lovely Dutch town with a great market and shops and, if you are going in September, the Meddo Show is nearby and is one of the best small shows for tractors and all aspects of Dutch life. There is sometimes an accordion Festival in a nearby village on the same weekend.

Some of the pictures I post come from the Meddo Show.

One of the posters on here, Emiel, lives nearby, a good friend of mine. You also get the Arnhem celebrations and commemoration events in September.

I was on my way to a tractor pull at the start of the biggest long week end in my destination area when I got a flat on the left side of my trailer. Both lanes of the interstate were full, and I was doing my best to operate my jack while lying under my trailer. Suddenly someone spoke to me. It was a state cop. He didn't block a lane, but he did get traffic to slow down and move over. He could have driven right by because he was off duty in plain clothes going home after training, but he chose to stop and help me.

Hi, I do live half way between arnhem and winterswijk. Youre welcome to see my tractors off course. The Meddo event is not organised anymore unfortunately but winterswijk is still nice to go to.
