Church and Market Place in Utrect, Holland. Utrect was the coffee making centre of Holland and, on my way from The Hook to Harsewinkle in Germany, I used to pass close by the city on the autobahn. The smell of coffee early in the mornings, wafted on the breeze for many miles. In latter years the local administration made the factory increase the filtration of the air from the dryers and now there is no smell at all. Another great memory now in the past.

It always amazes me that they could build something so intricate, so high. The scaffolding itself had to have been quite the feat of engineering.

If that's the Dom Cathedral.....built around 1100, took several centuries to build. The section of the Cathedral between the tower and the apse collapsed in a storm and took another 100 plus years to clean up. This part was not rebuilt and the tower now stands a distance from the rest of the building. It's 3 or 400 feet tall. Visited there some 30 years ago.

1860 .. the scaffold materials salvaged from the local church was enough to frame 4 nice homes in town ,, that steeple is 100 ft above the roof
