There is a farm site about 1000 ft west, but I doubt it had any connection to this stranded silo. Its interesting to look at this little silo in a sea of corn and realize what was once its previous owners pride would drown under the mass of silage its surrounding could produce.
 
I guess someone decided to leave a monument of a past farm. Thanks for posting.

They were quite a thing back in the day. Theres still a few farms around still using them but not many.
 

Before my dad died we discussed a large combine and grain cart probably held more corn than my Great Grandpa had storage for on his entire farm.
