Obviously this farmer wanted a slightly more powerful Fordson Major so mounted two six cylinder engines, one behind the other. Tractor pulled well but needed a big headland to turn on when ploughing. ;0)

One would have to ask why he didn't move the front axle back some or to the rear tractor engine where it would have bolted on probably. It might have been a bit front heavy unless loaded on the rear but would turn much better. I would have probably put a plate from one to the other and mounted the axle under the middle of the front engine helping with turning yet keeping the front weight to a lighter limit.

Or if you were building it for pulling competition like the fellow in the picture you might have done it just as he did.
