my neighbor is on a case craze, he bought 2 930's and one says 931 and the other one says 932, which is 7000 tractors newer than the other one. both are 1967. i see the 932 one has only one steering arm of the steering box, while the 931 has 2 arms off the steering box.just wondering what the 1 and 2 mean?and what is the actual difference in them.

Seems to me the 932 was the "Western" model with wide front and big fenders like the one I used to have. 931 possibly a row crop or general purpose as they were known. This photo from a late sixties brochure shows the difference.

931 has adjustable front and rear tires, to match crop row spacing.

This is my 931, and as you can see in the photo, the rear wheels could be set out on the power adjust rims, also could be slid out farther on the axle. The front axle is basically a tube, and by removing a couple pins, it can be telescoped in or out. It has a fairly wide stance as set right now, and can fit down 36 rows

A 931 is the deisel row crop 8spd tractor. The 932 is the same row crop 8spd but with set back front axle and wide rear fenders. The specials frequently came bare back with no 3pt. The 932 should not be confused with the 930 6spd western which mostly had a hand clutch but could have foot clutch too. The 6spd 930 could not have a 3pt on them, altho there were aftermarket units I've seen.

I've seen a lot of 930s but only ever seen one GP with 3 point hitch, adjustable front axle with the long wheelbase and the small fenders. It was quite a novelty. Must have been an import from row crop country.

i got a couple pic's of each one.

the 831 it has 10,00 x16 front tires and it looks kinds high in the front. i thought they should have 750x16 . the engine is stuck in this one so he wants me to get it running. it has sat for 30 years from the original owner. we drug it home last night.

Optional front rubber on the 931 was 7.50L-15, 7.50-16, 7.50-18 or the big 9.00-16. My 932 had 10-16s on the front. Always felt it would have been better with 18.4-38s on the back instead of the 34s. A little short on traction for field work.
