Engine issue solved

Since nothing else solved the issue, I ordered a compression tester, it showed up yesterday. 2 cylinders had almost zero compression. I had discounted that as. Possibility because I could see the valves through the spark plug hole and they looked good and moved properly. The cylinders looked good too. So when it came up as no compression I was surprised, but knew right away what the problem was. All the exhaust valves were tight, but 2 were holding the valves open a bit. As soon as I loosened them it fired right up. It was too late to properly set and adjust everything, but I'm sure it will run good now. Sure could have saved bunch of time and money if I had started with that. Lol. Guess that's why mechanics make the money they do.

Glad that worked out. Compared to me you are an excellent mechanic. Is that an air cooled 126 on that swather? Post some pictures of your haying if you get a chance. always enjoy your photos.

This one is water cooled. Going to be cutting oats and barley soon, I'll post pics of that.

Congratulations! And they cost so little and use of them is so much quick compared to many other trouble shooting procedures.
