Best rye I ever grew

I had my rye combined this afternoon. They use a pair of 6620 side hill combines with 15 ft grain heads. One field went 93 bu to the acre and another was 83 bu. This was ran across the scales to get weight. The field that made 93 bu might make 200 small square bales per acres as well. I need to do a little work on my 42 pulltype combine but hope to cut a few oats next week with it. I will post pics of it. Today I was to busy moving wagons and weighing them to take any pics. Tom

WOW, that's great! I'm interested in more details
Where is this?
Did you use one of the new hybrid seeds?
What was the planting date?

Good for you. I enjoy reading when crops are doing well. So much bad weather anymore. What do you do with the bales? Stan

This was notilled after soybean harvest about the first of Oct. We spread 200# of potash before planting and top dressed this spring with 125# of AMS which is 21-0-0-24s. It was also sprayed for weeds and a growth regulator to shorten the straw. We will sell the grain for seed and sell some straw but most will be used for my beef cows. Located southwest WI. Tom
