Tell me about it!!!! I used to work on Nuffield tractors in the early 1960's and they had extended rear axles. Walking between rows of tractors, if you forgot yourself, you were quickly reminded by a sharp knock on the front of your thigh that nearly laid you out and hurt for hours.

What is the point of that long axle? 20 min. with a hacksaw or 5 min. with a torch and that shin bumper would be gone if it was mine.

Is the long front axle to allow the wheel to be set in for plowing and out for clearance for belt work?
