One of my dream tractors. Sometimes I think I could die happy if I'd sell all of my trailer queens and buy an early Ford 6000 that would have been red and an Oliver 1800A Checkerboard. They were the two tractors that I wanted Dad to buy when they were new. He told me I could buy used ones when I got older. I still don't have either one.

My brother sold a 6000 a few years ago and it went to the U.K. as a parts tractor I believe.

I still think a 6000 is the handsomest tractor of all. There was only one on the island I grew up on. The farmer parked it out by the main road for the dealer to pick it up. It had lots of problems and he finally gave up. It sat there a couple of years, weeds and vines almost completely covered it up. It always made me sad to see it.

You should find out where it is and try for a special deal on both the 6000 and the 80 behind it!
