Gravity fuel- handle nozzle repair

I'm replacing this leaky handle, I've never done it before.
Should I use Teflon tape on the threaded joints?
How tight is tight enough? Should I use a pipe wrench?

Permatex #2 non hardening sealer on the threads
Yes use a pipe wrench to tighten but no overly tight

IF you have big enough open end wrenches or big adjustable wrenches would be better for it.

I think a paste is preferred for that use, but tape seems to work as well.

I too use a big adjustable wrench, you want it tightened up firm but I wouldnt get crazy with a pipewrench. The pot
metal those are cast from is not all that strong and can crack. Yea ask me how I know.

Dan, stop by your local hardware store and
get some Rector Seal #5. It is approved
for gas, diesel, propane and many more
things. I used it exclusively when I
owned my fuel business.

Another product you could use is a thread sealant paste called gasoila. Tighten enough so it doesn't leak or come unscrewed. Doesn't have to be 800lb gorilla tight.
