A neighbor to last weeks.

Looks like that wont be standing long.

Bring in the dozers and beige townhouses.

It certainly is a fancy intersection in front of this old barn. I don't understand the silos. Something about this picture is incongruous. The silos look like something far newer, and/or more expensive than any farmer could afford. The barn had to have been built around the silos, didn't it?

This has sat for 40 years in similar condition. Centra-Care Plaza built across from it 20 years ago and there is now a round about in front of it instead of a simple country two lane.

Silos appear to be poured concrete. Flat tops with safety railings sure
don't seem to be old. Don't see a fill opening, wonder what the other side looks like.

In the St Cloud area poured silos were prolific. I cant nail down a specific builder and its likely there were several. Masonry and stave silos started showing up in the 90s and wood stave or slab before them. Often our generation doesnt give the generations of that time enough credit. These poured silos may be older than we estimate. In this case I estimate that an addition to an existing barn likely envelopes these silos.

My grandfather's brothers who were full time farmers owned a set of silo forms, and built numerous ones around the neighborhood around 1940. Some had flat roofs, some with a poured dome.
