One of our local farmers, who was known to be an early starter, always had his planter cleaned up and ready to plant in late March and put it outside the barn where it could be seen from the road.....

I saw a TV commercial a few times that showed an M Farmall pulling a 28 foot wing disc with the wings folded out to a field.

Yeah, right. I can't remember what the product they were advertising was, but they obviously weren't too astute on farming.

I can't get my head around the idea that anyone in the world would talk about what someone else was baling with? Do those people just have empty or no lives? Who talks about that stuff?

An Oliver Super 77 couldnt quite run that baler. Maybe 3/4 size bales and it would run out of oomph.

Years back a co-workers dad did some creative staging with some JD sheet metal, junk tire, and an old spreader during a wet spring. He staged it far enough off the road to sell the bit and in a convincing part of the field.

It hit the local coffee shops like fire and was a regional farm paper within two weeks.

When we were growing up I remember our neighbor's kid asking his dad if their M would pull something like that.

His dad's reply: "Down the road!"

a man that used to go same church had some neighbors that had to be FIRST in the fields one spring when was to early to be in field he hooked his 806 and went road with it so lots of people saw him then he took a back way and put tractor in a shed.

like the time shortly after we moved here that I unhooked the 5 bottom plow in the side yard and parked the Super C in front of it for several days. Neighbors noticed.

2 neighbors who both milked ,got into a who gets up earliest thing. after a week of 1 up just before the other,1 flipped his barn lites on at bed time. the other neighbor gave up a few days later not realizing lites were on all nite
