Rust In Gas Tank

I have a friend who has a John Deere that has a lot of rust in
the gas tank. What is a good way to get the rust knocked
loose, including behind the baffle. And what do you
recommend to line the inside of the gas tank with?
 
My jubilee had the inside coating flaking off, no rust.
I decided to buy a new tank off YT for a few bucks more than treating and coating the inside.
Buy new if you can.
Thank me later.
 
I strapped my 630 tank to my concrete mixer, threw in a handful of 5/16 nuts and some cleaning solution and let it run for 6 hours. That was to prep for soldering some small leaks.

No one that I have ever heard of. Although I suppose they could turn up in the Obits but without a cause of death.
 
I used a product called Kreem,for a Simplicity garden tractor gas tank & has lasted over 20 years.
