Hopefully I finally can get here this year. Heard about from Farm and Dairy people at the fair last year. Show like this going on in my own backyard and I didnt know about.

Thank your for your post. You have just taken me back 60 to 70 years. I grew up in Shalersville and spent a fair bit of time at Brugman's Gravel pit and at Lakeside Sand and Gravel. There were smaller gravel pits all over that area. The man who eventually became my Father-in Law was the superintendent of AJ Ronyak's asphalt plant. It looks like, according the map, that Ronyak's is now Shalersville Asphalt.

I live near Nashville now so it is way too far to travel to the Open House, but I wish that I could. Thanks again for the memories.

They had Ten shovels antique working .
Bus tour of the mines ( gravel ) Drag lines two miles of conveyors , gravel separating, 50 trucks hauling out every day.
