Can you elaborate on that David Brown fella? Was that a doppelgnger or the same entity?
 
Interesting. We had a Muir Hill on the farm when I was young. Bought for its ability to drag a potato harvester through the mud. My recollection is that there were some problems with the steering, and the hydraulics were lacking. But it was a brute of a tractor for the times.
 
The early models had a different style of of steering than the later ones Ive never had steering problems. Hydraulics ate a ford 5000 gear pump which is packing mine also has an auxiliary pump
