I have an NAA and there is vertical cylinder on the left side of the tractor that is leaking oil because the cup that is attached to the underside of the cylinder has developed small holes on the bottom. I don't know the name of the part so i don't know if I can purchase a new cup or should have it welded to fix the holes.

I agree with Break you are probably looking at the air cleaner. The cup attached to the bottom with two clamps is filled with engine oil as the oil-bath filter. As a
courtesy, Break also linked you to new parts you can get here at YT. The cup has a cork gasket on the inner lip groove. I'd just buy new, I don't muck with JB Weld.
but your call. We'll help ya out now, but you need to get the Essential Manuals if'N ya wanna be a FORD TRACTOR OWNER. They are the best investments you can make for
your tractor. Forgive me if you are a newbie and don't have them already; no forgiveness if you don't. I fail to understand how one can not have them.

You might want to check the steel mesh filter element in the air cleaner too. They can become clogged if you use it in dry, dusty country. Especially if it is used for mowing a lot.

jb weld will fix it BUT... there are three rules in using jb weld. 1. it must be clean. 2. It must be clean. 3. Did I say, it must be clean or it will not work!!!. clean it. Sand it. Clean it again. THEN...clean it with alcohol so there is NO film on the metal and its dry. Then apply jb weld and spread it in small areas, working into the pin holes... till all the rusty/ bad area is covered. Let sit for 24 hours... lightly sand it to make it pretty or not. Since you did the inside, no one is going to see it. Paint it if you like. let sit for 24 hours...and fill with oil and reassemble.

or use por15 gas tank repair.. pretty much same process except they use an acid to super clean the metal first. bit more pricey.

Thanks for the valuable information. I have owned the tractor for about 20 years and the manual I have is a shop manual which doesn't mention the air filter. So thanks, I will probably purchase the owners manual.
