Kubota DT245 Coolant Leak

I have a 1982 Kubota DT245DT that has coolant running down the back of the block near the fuel tank. Just noticed it the other day when I topped off the coolant.
Engine oil is good and is where it should be at on the dipstick without a sweet smell. I am guessing somehow I have a head gasket leak/failure going on.

A part of me wants to try a stop leak product and the other part wants to get a new head gasket. I've never been into one of these Kubota diesels but I assume it
would be like any other head or head gasket change.

Any help is appreicated.

Keep in mind that stop-leak is at best only a temporary fix. It also has a tendency to plug up radiators and heater cores.

That is my exact concern as well as what caused the leak. I am not concerned the coolant was bad causing the block to freeze and crack because it is not even two years old and we had a quite mild winter. I just can't imagine what caused the issue. I am half afraid what I will find.

You might want to do a little research in person and on the web for other owners that had a similar problem, it could be something as simple as a connection or a freeze plug leaking.

I'm guessing there is no warranty at this time. So now it is up to you on how to proceed. Take a closer look at it see if you can find out where it is coming from.As said might be as simple as a hose clamp needs tightned or bad as the head needs to come off.

Look carefully for a core plug in the head or high in the block. Rusted core plug is much more likely than a head gasket IMO.

Those engines also have several small steel plugs which are driven into small holes in the block. I've had some leak, but they were all oil passages. I don't know if there any any in the water jacket.
